Fish Noodle Soup at Elim Coffee Shop

Fish Noodle Soup at Elim Coffee Shop

One of KKMOI’s best finds is a little hidden gem at the Likas Shops (opposite All Saints Secondary School) called Elim Coffee Shop. Operated by an Auntie who laboriously cooks for all her customers alone. With only a few servers to help, she has been operating under the radar, serving the fattest, thickest, freshest sliced fish noodle soup from her quarter-of-a-shop-lot kopitiam.

The simple ham choi tiu foo tong (clear soup with preserved vegetables and tofu) really brings out the fresh taste of the Engko Li fish slices. We love auntie’s food because it is fresh, clean, and she gives really generous servings. Try the mixed fish noodle soup and fishhead noodle soup!

THE GOOD
Huge cuts of fresh fish slices and very generous servings of noodles for RM6.00 a bowl. Also, it can be baking like an oven outside, but it is always cool in the shop. A perfect place to escape the heat!

THE BAD
Limited seating. Auntie is the cook so you may need to wait just a little bit longer than the “super efficient” coffee shops. Well worth the minor wait though!
