Billion Tree Campaign: Plant a tree in Sabah for RM5
(As of July 15th, 2011, 523 trees have been planted so far and they are still going!)
The world’s forests are getting bald and instead of whining about it, you can do something! For RM5, you can adopt a tree Tamparuli Forest Reserve in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. For RM20 you can plant 4 trees, and with RM100 there will be 20 trees planted in your honour with your name tagged on each of them!
In conjunction with UNEP’s Billion Tree Campaign, Sabahan
events outdoor education company Wild Borneo Expeditions, alongside Dynamic Adventures and The Maynard School UK, have pledged to plant a minimum of 500 trees. With the support of the Sabah Forestry Department, the coalition is targeting to add 1,000 trees to the Borneo forest. For the whole of July 2011, they’ll be planting trees with your help.
You may donate trees, tools, compost or a RM5 note for a tree. According to WBE, all donations will be recorded and trees will be tagged with your name!
