‘Tour of Borneo’ Winner Crosses Finish Line Tomorrow

You don’t need to go Langkawi to witness world-class cycling anymore. Sabah’s first International Cycling Event Tour of Borneo 2012 will enter into the final stage of competition tomorrow (1st May 2012), and the tour ends right here in Kota Kinabalu.

The tour began in Semporna on 27th April 2012 and have been going on for a few days with cyclists going from Semporna to Tawau, Lahad Datu to Sandakan. Some teams have come from as far as Australia, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan to participate in this inaugural event.

So far, Australian team mates Earle and Giacoppo from Genesys Wealth Advisers have bagged Stages 2 and 3, while Stage 1 was won earlier by the New Zealand Pure Black Racing team.

Results for today’s Stage 4 leg, which is a grueling 214.8km ride from Sepilok to Kundasang have not been announced yet, but details will be published on the official TOB website as soon it is available.

So if you are anywhere between Kundasang and Kota Kinabalu tomorrow, keep a look out for these endurance superhumans as they finish the last leg of their 758.4km race.

P/S: Start training for it now if you’re thinking of doing the tour anytime soon.
