Just wanted to quickly share a place at Gaya Street called Ming Ge Cafe, if you are looking for fat, succulent, delicious roasted meats. It’s one of our favorite places to eat if we happen to chance around the area (provided we can get a seat!).

What sets this place apart, is that it offers two different sauces for your konlaumein; white or dark tossing-sauce.

I also like the way they prepare their ho fun noodles. It’s smooth and chewy at the same time.

You can get roasted duck, char sao, sao nyuk, choon gen(Pork rolls), roasted chicken, steamed chicken and sao tai chong(Chinese pork sausages) here.

Just take a look at the beautiful layering and freshness of the sao nyuk. Nom nom.

If you prefer not to have noodles, they also serve the roasted meats with rice. In the afternoon, Ming Ge also serves Chap Fan(mixed rice dishes), where you can get your 3 sides with your rice.

Ambiance

Ming Ge is a family-run little cafe that is always packed. It is clean, self-serviced, and busy. You may have to stand around for a table.
